System Requirements?

Easy Search is developed on MySQL version 5. And I think Easy Search does not work properly with the older versions because the component uses the sub query and the stored function.

Easy Search displays a content not having the keyword I searched.

Easy Search searches your content including the word in tags. For example, if your content had the following link and you searched with the keyword "joomla", the result will show the content.

You can change this behaviour with the Base plugin parameter "Search in tags".

I tried to install Easy Search Lite, but it says "Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package.".

The file "easysearch_lite_pack.zip" contains "Easy Search Lite", "Easy Search Module" and "Easy Search Quick Icon". You have to install each program individually after extracting the zip file.

I installed Easy Search Module ( mod_easysearch ), but it looks like nothing happened to my website.

  1. Go to Module Manager.
  2. Click the link "Administrator". It is next to the link "Site".
  3. Click "Easy Search Module" in the list.
  4. Change the position to "status" or "menu".

I installed Easy Search Quick Icon ( mod_esqicon ), but it looks like nothing happened to my website.

  1. Go to Module Manager.
  2. Click the link "Administrator". It is next to the link "Site".
  3. Click "Easy Search Quick Icon" in the list.
  4. Change the position to "icon".
  5. Click "Save" and go to Control Panel.

How do I uninstall the quick icon module?

  1. Select the menu "Extensions" » "Install/Uninstall".
  2. Click the link "Modules".
  3. Check "mod_esqicon".
  4. Click the icon "Uninstall" located upper right on the screen.

How do I display the quick icon module before the default icons (e.g. Add New Article) in the Control Panel?

  1. Select the menu "Extensions" » "Module Manager".
  2. Click the link "Administrator".
  3. Change the order by clicking the upper allow icon for "Easy Search Quick Icon".

The page I want to edit is not displayed!

Please search with a few keywords. This component does not provide "or" search because it aims to find a specific content.

In addition Easy Search Lite does not search the content managed by the third-party extension (e.g. VirtueMart).

Easy Search has a functionality to enlarge the search range, but you still have to install a plugin to do that.

You can also ask other Joomla! developer to make one for you which should be easy for them if it is OK to just display a link for the editing page.
